50 Cent Reacts To Rick Ross Debuting At #1 With ‘Deeper Than Rap’
MTV News caught up with 50 Cent, getting the rapper’s reaction to news that his rival of the moment Rick Ross scored a #1 album with ‘Deeper Than Rap’. The CD sold 150k units in its first week, enough to top the Billboard Top 200. “I didn’t get an opportunity to hear his record, but a lot of freak [SoundScan] numbers come out of the Def Jam system,” 50 told Tim Kash, but he did give some credit to the Miami rapper he refers to as Officer Ricky. “I think it can be a disappointment to the system, based on how much of an effort and money they spent marketing. But you can’t call a #1 [album] a ‘flop’ under any circumstances. It’s still #1.” Watch the comments below.
