50 Cent Represents A Turning Point In Hip-Hop
Michael D. Clark of the Houston Chronicle reviewed 50 Cent’s show at H’Town’s Arena Theatre. Clark writes, “Sunday night, 50 Cent and G-Unit ran on the stage like a military battalion. Moments into his 40-minute set, however, the rapper decided Houston was a safe haven. With the shout of an epitaph he ripped off his shirt and bulletproof torso protector to reveal a muscular, stalky frame covered in tattoos and jewelry.” Clark added, “50 Cent represents a turning point in hip-hop. He may be the first superstar not just creating his own style but just reshaping the works of those before him. That in itself may be the innovation the genre needs.”
