will.i.am ‘The Jackass Song’ And Editorial

will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas weighed in on Kanye West’s protest of Taylor Swift’s win at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards for Best Female Video, and the subsequent reaction from U.S. President Barack Obama, who called the rapper a jackass. He also put his thoughts into song with ‘The Jackass Song’. Will writes:

I guess personal moments aren’t personal anymore…

“sad” really…

now here is another distraction for the world…

meanwhile people are losing jobs, education is poor…

and all the youth are gonna eat this “personal” opinion up…

Obama needs Kanye…

he needs Kanye to stimulate the youth to stay focused and fight for “education reform”…

(if Kanye chose to lend himself to do that)

we don’t want Obama to be a “pop, gossip, president”…

he cant be “Perez-i-dent Obama”

get it…???

Perez Hilton gossip man…???

this saddens me…

we are in a mess of mess still…

I dont think it was right that kanye did what he did to “Taylor Swift”

should Kanye have thought of a more effective way to execute his opinion…????

yes

should Kayne have tried to convince Jay-Z to stop in the middle of his MTV performance to acknowledge his wife’s videos…

yes…

How is it that we’ve been #1 for 23 weeks and BEP gets no nominations. What is the MTV awards if the don’t “play” videos or recognize sizzle?

Black Eyed Peas Top Billboard Hot 100 For Record 20 Straight Weeks

The Black Eyed Peas made history after ‘Boom Boom Pow’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’ topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 20 consecutive weeks at #1. ‘I Gotta Feeling’ took the top slot for eight weeks, while ‘Boom Boom Pow’ spent the prior 12 weeks at #1. This is the longest consecutive stay for an artist in the Billboard chart’s 51 year history.

“With this kind of success your ego wants to take all the credit but your heart reminds your soul that it was your heart that had you slaving and creating in the studio making the music; breaking through comfort zones and tradition. In the fight between heart and ego my heart always wins,” said will.i.am.

Fergie added, “Without everyone doing their part, the stars never would have aligned. This was a group effort, thank you to everyone who helped to keep these songs on top.”
