C-Murder Talks About House Arrest Awaiting Murder Retrial

C-Murder just dropped the DVD ‘The Movement’ on Tuesday, and will drop the new album ‘Screamin 4 Vengeance’ while under house arrest awaiting a retrial on his murder charge. The New Orleans rapper spoke with Artisan News Service about how he’s been doing fighting for his freedom. “Yeah I’ve been through a lot,” he said. “I take every day and I appreciate every day that I’m here and I’m home and with my family. That’s what I do, I just can’t let them get to me and take me down. I gotta keep it positive and hope people keep a positive vibe around me.” Watch the clip below the fold.

Judge Gives Corey Miller House Arrest

The Associated Press reports an appearance by Corey Miller, who has changed his rap moniker from C-Murder to C-Miller, at a Hurricane Katrina documentary premiere in New Orleans has led a judge to put the rapper on full home confinement until his second trial on a second-degree murder charge. The 35-year-old’s original conviction was overturned after a judge ruled that prosecutors had withheld the criminal backgrounds of key state witnesses from the defense.

C-Murder Granted New Trial In Murder Case

Billboard reports C-Murder, convicted last year of shooting a teenager to death inside a nightclub, has been granted a new trial. A Louisiana judge ruled Tuesday (April 6) that the rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, deserves a new trial because prosecutors withheld key information about witnesses they called to implicate him, defense lawyer Ron Rakosky said. The Associated Press reports C-Murder was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder in the nightclub shooting of a 16-year-old boy. The charge carries an automatic life sentence. Relatives of C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, began sobbing as the verdict was read and were escorted out of the courtroom. Women were heard screaming in the hallway outside.

Billboard.com reports that a teen killed in a nightclub shooting was a devoted fan of the rapper charged in his slaying, according to the prosecutor in the murder trial of C-Murder (real name: Corey Miller).
