BBC News reports DMX has pleaded guilty to trying to buy cocaine and cannabis in Miami, according to his lawyer Bradford Cohen. The rapper entered his plea in Florida, where he was sentenced for time served. He’s still in custody awaiting extradition to the state of Arizona on outstanding drug and animal cruelty charges. A lot of times when we hear someone we normally disagree with, or simply don’t like, speaking we have a tendency to only look for the faults in what they have to say. We do this in conversations and even when reading or watching interviews. Unfortunately, a lot of the time we end up missing out on great pieces of information because this. Recently XXL put an interview with DMX up on their website that ended up being linked to in a lot of places because in it DMX claimed he had never heard of Barack Obama. Yes, that makes for a great headline (even if that part of the conversation was strangely buried in the article), but there were a few great points DMX made during the interview that most every missed because they were too busy cracking jokes about his supposed ignorance. DMX tells MTV News his first release for Bodog Music will be half gospel, half rap in a two album effort coming out this year. “I [was] the first ni**a to put out two albums in one year ['It's Dark and Hell Is Hot' and 'Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood' in 1998], now I’m gonna hit ‘em again — drop two albums on the same fu**in’ day, yo,” X explained from his home in Arizona on Friday. “A double album will make muthafu**as mad, because they gotta spend more money — plus it’s already a long [double] album. I’m talking about a hip-hop album and a gospel album.” X has titled the project ‘Walk With Me Now and You’ll Fly With Me Later’, and said he hopes to release the project within the next few months. DMX said the gospel album’s lyrics will be “without cursing — how ’bout that one? No songs about bitches, no songs about robbing, just straight ‘Give God the glory.’” Read more.
