Jadakiss’ ‘Kiss Of Death’ Album Release Party

The Ruff And The Smooth
Ruff Ryders Records has just signed 23-year-old singer LT to launch its new division, Ruff Pop. LT – born Lynne Timmes, tells The New York Daily News she’s a “straight-up pop artist.” As for the unlikely pairing, she admitted, “My parents were a little worried when they looked at the old Ruff Ryders Web site. It had gunshots – and blood dripping from Eve’s face. But they think everything happens for a reason, and I do, too.” Ruff Ryders co-CEO Joaquin (Waah) Dean explained: “We ain’t limited to doing hip hop. We really wanted to do something outside the box. She just has raw talent. Her music speaks for itself.”

According to Ecko.com, Ruff Ryders, whose roster boasted the talents of DMX, The Lox, and Eve, has formed a new imprint dubbed Ruff Pop. Ruff Pop will sign pop music acts in effort for the label to break into the mainstream market and compete with performers like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. The label has already signed a female singer named LT. No release date has been yet for the release of her album.

While in L.A. for the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, Jadakiss of the LOX/D-Block/Ruff Ryders stopped by the Fantastik 4our show on Friday night and announced that his next album entitled Kiss Of Death would be arriving in stores April 6, 2004 on Interscope Records. Cedric The Entertainer Praises Eve
Cedric the Entertainer fielded some questions from TRL viewers at MTV.com including one asking how it was working with Eve on ‘Barbershop 2′. “We had a great time on the movie,” he said. “It’s really a family atmosphere. It was great working with Eve, she’s grown a lot as an actress. She was the only female, but she was also the main female on Ruff Ryders, so it was natural for her.”

Jay-Z is holding a special Thanksgiving benefit concert on Thursday at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, DMX is hosting the Thanksgiving Dinner With DMX with his music family the Ruff Ryders at the Nepperham Community Center in Yonkers, the Nappy Roots serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless at the Wayside Christian Mission House in Louisville, and Cash Money gave away 2000 turkey dinners for its Fourth Annual Cash Money Turkey Giveaway in New Orleans. DMX Says, ‘Dame Said, I Beat Jay’
AllHipHop.com reports that in DMX’s soon-to-be released autobiography, E.A.R.L.: The autobiography of DMX, DMX claims that Dame Dash admitted X defeated Jay-Z in a battle of the then unsigned emcees, which took place in The Bronx. X says the Roc C.E.O. was talking with Darrin Dean, C.E.O. of Ruff Ryders, after the cipher and told him, “Yo, your man did kinda’ get him.”
