ABC Defends Chamillionaire Interview Nixing

When Chamillionaire received the Video Music Award for Best Rap Video last week, the rapper took the opporunity to lash out at ABC. “Yesterday, I was supposed to do an interview for ’20/20′ for the song ‘Ridin’, about racial profiling, and they canceled it, and that ruined my week, you know what I’m saying,” he said on live television. “I do want to say, this award just made my year. … The best thing about this award – nobody can cancel this.” Now, The New York Daily News reports reports ABC is claiming a schedule rearrangment forced them to cut the planned show to one hour, so they cut the piece out all together. Rather than wasting Chamillionaire’s time, they cancelled the interview.
