Andre 3000 To Portray Jimi Hendrix
Outkast’s Andre 3000 tells The New York Daily News he’s ready to give his full measure to the role of Jimi Hendrix in a movie directed by Albert and Allen Hughes. Andre has no pretensions about being able to mimic Hendrix’s lightning fretwork. “I won’t do my own guitar playing,” he said. “It will probably be someone who knows Jimi’s style inside and out.”
I love Andre 3000 and the Hughes Brothers work, however please take your time creating this movie about Jimi Hendrix. Seriously, are you casting Andre because he is Andre 3000? No one can match Jimi Hendrix’s agility so I would think it would be rather difficult to search and meticulously choose someone who can sing and know Jimi’s guitar skill. Please take your time to create a masterpiece not just another movie…
