Basement Jaxx Work With Busy Dizzee

Radio 1 caught up with Felix of Basement Jaxx and asked about their new single, ‘Lucky Star’, which they did with Mercury Music Prize winner Dizzee Rascal. Felix admitted it was difficult finishing off the track because Dizzee’s got much more in demand lately. “We met him near a year ago or something like that. He was around in the garage underground and he was one of the MCs that definitely seemed to be doing something interesting,” Felix explained. “So we got in touch with him. He came in the studio, and we did half the track, and we only finished, like, a few months ago. Since then he went off and recorded his album, so getting to do the second verse was quite difficult because suddenly he was really busy. And then it’s all taken off for him, which is brilliant – it’s really cool!”
