Brittany Murphy Confesses To Eminem Romance

Brittany Murphy talked with MTV’s Total Request Live on Monday to discuss the movie ‘8 Mile’, working with Eminem on it, her desire to work with Dr. Dre in the future, and her admission that yes, the rumors about her and Eminem having an off-screen romance were true, but they aren’t anymore. Read on for a transcript.

TRL: Yes! Brittany murphy ladies and gentlemen.

Brittany: Dear lord. Hi, everybody! How you doin’

TRL: This —

TRL: This is especially crazy for you.

TRL: Thank you! Thank you. Ha-ha your birthday, too on the 10th brittany
oh, the right way or just you know like — happy birthday

TRL: She is a woman of the peopl these people show her so much love.

Brittany: I am a people person.

TRL: This must be especially crazy for you bein’ you actually worked
across the street in a play at the round-about theater that’s not there
are.

Brittany: Yes, the forrr round-about theater used to be across the seat
and the very first season of trl during my lunch b what are all these people
standin’ outsi middle of times square like every single day it didn’t make
any sense then i finally figured it out because i was workin’ while trl
was on finally i figured it out and when there was a musical guest, they’d
go out and scream with them. I can’t believe I get to be inside here looking
down on times square that’svable.

TRL: For you i got to stay first off congratulations the movie opened
this weekend. 54.5 million dollars.

Brittany: Thanks to all of you th, guys.

TRL: Now, be hon honest what did you expect the first weekend’s numbers
to be?

Brittany: Uhm, i actually didn’t anticipate numbers but i knew that
if i was i it or wasn’t in it i would see it because I’m a humongous eminem
fan as well as a hue mon gus curtis hanson fan, who is the director. If
everyone that buys his C.D.S went out and saw the movie, i really — everyone
that didn’t see it, go see the movie. It’s the best. If you have a dream,
see the picture, please.

TRL: Yeah, it is so meaningful like that not just about hip-hop. I think
that’s the misconception a lot of people have it is about the struggle
trying to make it and eminem ally love ro lived that in his life. Em is
huge now.

Brittany: I know I’m so proud of him.

TRL: What was going through your head the first time you heard eminem
was involved in the project and they brought it to you.

Brittany: When I was first notified about it, first i met with curtis
and i knew that like — eminem was — marshall, i knew marshall was starring
in it and i couldn’t — it never evened my mind, there was never doubt
in my head that it would be something that he wouldn’t be incredible at
on every single album he does he plays at least like seven different characters
obviously if he could do that, he could do this, 10-fold over and has proven
that to the world.

TRL: Definitely. I saw the flick over the weekend it was incredible.
There was a steamy scene with eminem we’ll talk more offer that, we’ll

Brittany: A 12.

Brittany: He broke the scale.

Brittany: He does not disappoint he has the amount of passion as he
does in his music.

obviously who is it next would you like to work with?

Brittany: Dr. Dre.

TRL: You’d like to act with dr. Dre?

Brittany: Uhm, i thought we could make arts and crafts together, I would
do anything with dr. Dre, act with him, sing with him, arts and crafts,
we’ll go to

TRL: I don’t know if dre is the arts and crafts type of dude.

Brittany: But I’m a really big fan so i would love to work with him
some day.

TRL: We’ll look forward to that if it happens you are going to hang
with us more the battle for no. 1 has been going on for a while mariah
carey breezed past jennifer lopez and justin and ctina but one she couldn’t
get back so she’s at no. 2 today here is mariahcarey “through th rain”

everyone heard were you dating eminem.

Brittany: Yeah.

TRL: But what happened?

Brittany: Well, you know uhm, he broke my heart in about a zillion different
pieces and i picked my slat tered self up on the grounds and I’m here on
trl now ha-ha.

TRL: He did not break your heart.

Brittany: No actually justin timberlake basically came in the mix and
screwed it all up you know it got into a big, bis messy musical j here.

TRL: I have a feeling you are not being quite earnest with me i hate
to get up in your business but the people are curious they want to know.

Brittany: Well, respect his privacy but because i said in the david
letterman show the other day the rumors are true, they were true and they
are no longer, I’ll say that much. He is an incredible person. An incredible
father and incredible actor and incredible M.C. The greatest on the planet
and I love you mommaand tori, i didn’t want to forget that thank you U.S.M.C.
