Usher swept the American Music Awards on Sunday, winning all four categories in which he was nominated. Other winners included OutKast with three awards, singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow with two nods, as well as rock band Linkin Park for favorite alternative music artist and Alicia Keys for favorite female artist (soul/R&B).

Outkast took home ‘Video Of The Year’ for ‘Hey Ya’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami on Sunday night. Big Boi said upon accepting the award: “First ever all, I want to thank Jesus Christ, my personal lord and savior for havin us all here safely tonight. I wanna give a shout out to my momma in the audience, [daughter] Jordan, [sons] Bamboo, Cross, MTV, all the fans around the world. We you love all.”

Outkast took home ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ for ‘Hey Ya’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami on Sunday night. Andre 3000 said upon accepting the award: “Thank you, thank you. We really appreciate it. We had a great time doing these videos. Director Bryan Barber, we had a great time coming up with the concepts of this video. Thank you, MTV. Thank all of the Outkast fans. Elliott, Aguilera Lead MVPA Nominations

Billboard.com reports that with six nods each, Missy Elliott’s ‘Pass That Dutch’ and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Fighter’ are the top nominees for the 2004 Music Video Production Association (MVPA) Awards. The 13th annual MVPA Awards show will take place May 20th at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

50 Cent Wins Brit Award

50 Cent took home Best International Breakthrough Artist at Tuesday night’s Brit Awards in London and also performed at the event.

New York’s biggest hip-hop station, Hot97, had a real hip hop award in which the winners where chosen by hip hop fans in New York. With over a million votes, the ‘Grimey Awards’ were a huge success and the person who was shunned by the Grammys, 50 Cent, is the biggest winner. Chosen by people who really matter, hip hop fans. Eminem’s Rude Crude Juno Award ‘Speech’

FoxNews.com reports that when Eminem won the Juno award on Sunday for Best International Album, the rapper sent in a tape in case he won saying, “I’m sorry I can’t be here. I’m in the studio, picking my [expletive, expletive].” The innocent Canadians who were broadcasting the show didn’t bother to preview the tape, so it ran live on air. Read more.

Nelly Wins Soul Train’s Entertainer Of The Year

Nelly took home the Sammy Davis Jr. Entertainer of the Year Award at last night’s Soul Train Music Awards in Pasadena. “We’ve only being doing this a short amount of time, and you don’t think you’ll be receiving awards like that so early on in your career,” Nelly said. CNN.com has since removed the video.

2003 Grammy Nominees CD

Eminem and Nelly are among the artists featured on the 2003 Grammy Nominees CD, due out February 11. The ninth edition of the CD series honors many of this year’s Grammy-nominated artists and songs in several major categories. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the CD will benefit music-related charities, including the Academy’s MusiCares Foundation and the Grammy Foundation.
