After picking up the an Adult Video Network (AVN) Award in the best ethnic-themed video category for ‘Liquid City’, Mystikal explained to Launch.com why he stayed out of the sex scenes. “I don’t know–it just felt right at the time, you know?” Mystikal said. “I made sure I was very careful while doing it, you know, because I didn’t really want it to hurt me in no kind of way, you know what I’m sayin’, get too caught up into it. So, I kinda just, like, hosted it and pretty much stayed totally away from the sex. Even though I was there, you know, I didn’t, you know what I’m sayin’, I didn’t really play into it like that.”

After thumbing his nose at Triumph the Insult Comic Dog at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, Eminem received another jolt when he was presented with the Best Male Video by Christina Aguilera. Eminem got rattled even more though during his acceptance speech, when he took another cheap shot at Moby, drawing a bunch of boos. Eminem said, “Thank you. I don’t know what to say when I be getting these awards, man. I got a list. I got a list of people I cannot forget to thank. First of all I want to thank Dr. Dre, Jimmy Ivine, the whole Interscope staff. I brought me a list. I wasn’t finished writing it. That little Moby girl threw me out of my zone for a minute. My manager Paul, all my attorneys, my production staff, Steve, Louie ( booing ). Keep booing little girl. I will hit a man with glasses. ( Audience booing more ) Haley, everybody, Nate, my brother, Betty, my uncle Jack, everybody who stayed with me, the MTV from the very first time that y’all played my video and I was nobody and nobody would play my videos, y’all made me somebody. Thank you. ( Applause )”

Ahead of tonight’s Grammy awards, Brad Kava of the San Jose Mercury News gave out his ‘Shammys’ to “the artists who did the most to make a sham of the ideals of rock and rap, who turned the music into merchandise and flushed our collective dreams down the toilet.” Amongst the artists on the list were Jay-Z who was labeled, “Sellout of the Year”. Kava writes, “As if stupid feuds haven’t cost rap enough lives, this publicity-seeking rapper has been super ugly in attacking rapper Nas. In the song ‘Super Ugly’ Jay-Z alleges that Nas’ girlfriend had an affair with basketball star Allen Iverson and that Jay-Z himself ‘left condoms on your baby seat.’ What’s next, a duet with Elton John?”
