Sean “Puffy” Combs called into the Howard Stern show this morning to accept an FME Award for Best Celebrity ID. P. Diddy thanked his mother and Howard for the award, which is a bronzed replica of Stern’s nose. Howard asked Puffy how he felt about J. Lo getting married, and he says he’s not upset over it and that he has a new girlfriend who was with him when he called in. Combs wouldn’t say what her name was though.
Missy Elliot won Best Hip Hop Act at the MOBO Awards last night in the UK in a contest dominated by R&B acts. Dr Dre got Best Producer while his pupil Eminem went home empty-handed. Read on for a full list of winners.
The MTV Europe Music Awards have been announced and Eminem leads the way with multiple nominations for himself and D12. The show will be held November 8 in Frankfurt, Germany. Other rap acts up for awards include Outkast and P Diddy.
MuchMusic has cancelled its biggest annual event, the MuchMusic Video Awards following the terrorist attacks in the United States on Tuesday. Scheduled to appear was rapper Outkast amongst others. Said MuchMusic general manager David Kines, “It is a time of uncertainty, a time to mourn, and to collect our thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for the victims and their families, MuchMusic has chosen to cancel this, the 12th edition of the annual event — and return in September 2002.”

You know last year they fell down so this year I kept them up and you were right, Jeff. I owe you for sure. Yo, I want to thank Jeff, everybody at Universal. My man Damon, Jimmy Riggins, Michael Horton, my family, the ticks, you know, the coach Kevin Long no doubt. My man f real, Cool the Love. Wherever you at dirty, for sure. And yo everybody else that made this possible, mom, dad. God and each man up here for the show.”
Outkast won the Video Music Award for Best Hip Hop Video for his video Miss Jackson. Outkast told the crowd, “Man, first of all, I want to thank god upstairs. This is our first moon man right here, you know. I want to thank the director for the video, Gary Gray, my mom in the audience right there, Dre’s father-in-law. Mr. Hodo. I want to thank the whole hip-hop community. All our life experiences that brought us up–. We still in the house.”
Destiny’s Child, Outkast, Usher and Craig David top the list of nominees for the MasterCard MOBO Awards 2001. The awards will be held Thursday 4 October at the London Arena.
