Outasight ‘Now Or Never’ Video

Outasight is out with the music video for his hit single ‘Now or Never’. The track is featured on the Yonkers, New York recording artist’s debut album ‘Nights Like These’, out soon on Warner Bros.

“The Now or Never video was one of those videos that was as fun to shoot as it actually looked.” Richard Andrew aka Outasight says of the filming process. “We just wanted to match the energy and positivity of the song, so a bunch of us got together and had a good time. I mean, we threw pounds of dry ice into someone’s indoor pool and chainsawed off the roof of a car. Only in videos can you get away with that!”

Outasight Talks SXSW, The Pepsi Commercial, Album & Influences

Outasight singer karate chop

Hollywire caught up with Outasight at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, where the artist talked about his experience at SXSW,

On his SXSW experience:

It’s been great. I’ve been here two days. I was here Tuesday, and now I’m here today. We had a show Tuesday night at La Zona Rosa and that was really fun.

On seeing the Pepsi commercial for the first time using his ‘Tonight Is The Night’ hit:

The first time it aired was the Wednesday night when ‘X Factor’ premiered. I was at my apartment and had a bunch of friends over, popped the champagne and celebrated. I just knew that things were gonna dramatically change. I went on tour with Gym Class Heroes and I just got the phone call. Yeah, you’re gonna be performing on ‘X Factor’.

On his big jump in Facebook fans after ‘X Factor’:

It definitely went up dramatically, and thank you to all those people who liked me. I like you too.

On touring:

I’m never stopping touring. We’re about to go on a nationwide tour with Dev, to support her debut album which is dropping. I think it’s Dev, me and Wynter Gordon.

On his next single:

It’s a song called ‘Now or Never’. I’ve been performing it live and the response has been amazing and it’s huge.

On the new album:

My album is coming out this summer. I’m really excited about it. I’ve been working on it for a long time, so the material is really strong. Very cohesive, and it’s gonna be really good.

His influences:

My influences are very eclectic, which probably inspires me to be a little eclectic. I grew up listening to classic stuff, like the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Prince. I was a party kid. I used to go to raves with drum and bass. I was a party kid for many years in New York City. I was just inspired by so much. I’ve just done a lot of different styles of music, and my recent foray has been to play loud and fast.

Dream collaboration:

I have to do a hook for Jay-Z before my time is too late.

Outasight Talks Musical Inspiration, Collaborations & Christmas

Outasight peace

‘Tonight Is The Night’ singer Outasight spoke with XL 106.7 at House of Blues in Orlando, Florida recently. The artist talked about how he was inspired to become a musician, collaborations and a Christmas wish.

On his start in music:

I was inspired by it all really. Growing up there was a lot of music around me, and I just realized right away that music invoked a feeling like nothing else did. I was like, I want to do this.

Does he remember his first rhyme?

My first rhyme, no. I remember older, older songs, but I don’t remember the first rhyme.

If he’d rather collaborate with Ke$ha or Lady Gaga:

They’re both very talented in their own way. Lady Gaga is a fellow New Yorker.

What he wants for Christmas:

World peace. I don’t know. I basically have everything I need. Maybe an iPad. Wanna get me an iPad?

Outasight Talks Sports, Accents & Halloween

Outasight singer wants to fight

Outasight shared some of his favorite things with PupFresh.com, including his favorite sports teams, favorite one hit wonder, favorite accents, and more.

Favorite thing he follows:

Just sports probably I guess. I do follow sports. I’m a Giants, Knicks and Yankees fan being from New York. Big basketball fan so I follow the Knicks but NBA is on lockout so that’s not really too much to follow right now.

Favorite one-hit wonder:

How about, there was a really cool song by the Sneaker Pimps back in the day called ‘6 Underground’. Take me down, 6 underground. That was one of my favorite joints ever. It was a trip hop joint. It was really dope.

Favorite accent:

Would probably be when a woman has a foreign accent, like Italian or French or Spanish. It’s very sexy.

Favorite cartoon character:

It’s probably Stewie and Brian Griffin and their adventures together (on ‘Family Guy’).

Favorite Halloween outfit:

The favorite thing I’ve probably been for Halloween was Hunter S. Thompson and my friend Dan was my attorney. We were doing a little fear and loathing in Las Vegas and we rolled around all night partying as those two and debauchery ensued.
