Soul Train recently chatted with Malice and Pusha T of Clipse and asked the pair what they look for when they say this is a song for duo. “You know, just something that stands out. Something that doesn’t really follow what, you know, everybody else is doing,” Malice said. “Like case in point I guess would be Grindin’, you know what I’m saying. It doesn’t sound like nothing that you know about. We wanted to come out, you know, to something different, so [the Neptunes] Pharrell and Chad put it together. It was crazy and we just laid the lyrics down to it and it is what it is.”
