Dave Meyers: Rappers Very Aware Of Their Audience

Music video director Dave Meyers spoke with Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith about how after working with rap artists such as Missy Elliott, Outkast, Jay-Z and Da Brat, he says that, “rappers are generally very aware of their audience. If you can spend two minutes with them, you can usually quickly learn what they want, or you can kind of just look at their reputation and listen to their music and lyrics to know what they’re about.”
