Dr. Jan Adams Walks Off ‘Larry King Live’ Set After Legal Threats
Dr. Jan Adams appeared on ‘Larry King Live’ after the first commercial break on Tuesday (November 20), and the doc who performed cosmetic surgery on Kanye West’s mother Donda a day before her death politely told the CNN host that he would not speak. He said, in part, “I had come here to talk about things in the press that aren’t accurate about me. But I have a tremendous about of love and respect for the West family and they’ve asked me not to go on.” Dr. Adams then took off his ear piece and walked off the set. Check out a transcript, featuring a panel of guests rushed together to discuss the case in Dr. Adams’ absence, at CNN.com.
This morning on ‘American Morning’, Lola Ogunnaike, who was one of the guests on ‘Larry King Live’, offered a behind-the-scenes look at what went down. Ogunnaike said he was watching the entire show from the wings, and said two sets of lawyers from the West side of the family spoke with Dr. Adams before he declined to be interviewed. Speaking with the doctor backstage after the show, Ogunnaike asked why he didn’t take this “perfect opportunity” to defend himself. “It wasn’t the perfect opportunity. I have the medical board all over me. I had two sets of lawyers all over me. This was not the perfect opportunity.” Dr. Adams then told her, “That was great television.” Watch the segment via CNN.com below.
