Brooklyn, NY September 23, 2004 – True hip-hop fans will rejoice to hear that veteran emcee Edo. G will release his sixth album later this fall. Edo. G, who burst on to the scene in the early 90’s with the classic party-starter song “I Gotta Have It,” collaborated with legendary producer Pete Rock to create an album that will be considered a “must-have” for years to come.
My Own Worst Enemy embraces all the ideals that defined the early 90’s as the “Golden Age” of hip-hop. “I wanted to give credit to that special era,” says Edo. G. “Nowadays artists hire multiple producers to get that club track, the track for the streets, the track for the radio single and then they fill the rest of the album with filler. For my album, I wanted to get one producer who produced a majority of the album, like we used to do back in the days. I also didn’t want to make a 17 or 18 track CD full of filler. That’s why I chose 10 solid tracks for my entire album. My Own Worst Enemy is a solid release, one that will remind us of the days when hip-hop was in its prime.”
Hip-hop fans can add this album to their top 10 favorite list by purchasing a copy of My Own Worst Enemy on CD or double LP in their local record store and other retail and e-tail outlets. The 12” single “Boston” will also be available at the same outlets. Guest artists include Pete Rock, Diamond D, Masta Ace, Krumb Snatcha, and Jaysaun.
