Eminem Being Compared To Legends
Edna Gundersen of USA Today spoke with several in the music business that have Eminem being compared to everyone from Elvis, Axl Rose, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and Madonna. Alan Light, former Spin editor said Lennon might be the best comparison, “Eminem, who is obviously insanely self-absorbed, uses so much of his personal drama as the driving force of this record. His family stuff is lurid and fascinating, and after going through that madness, he generates more madness in the record. Lennon also attempted to create his art out of his life.
