Eminem Provided King Gordy Ray Of Hope

Brian McCollum of the Detroit Free Press caught up with King Gordy as he preps to release his debut album ‘The Entity’ on Tuesday, thanks in large part to Eminem, who featured the heavy-set rapper in ‘8 Mile’ and cowrote three of the 16 cuts on the disc. “Detroit never had opportunities,” Gordy said. “There were no major labels or A&Rs coming down to open mics to check for new talent. When Eminem and D12 got on, it gave us all a ray of hope — that maybe we can make it.”
