Fans Mob Toronto Film Fest For ‘8 Mile’ Premiere

The Toronto Sun reports fans mobbed Yonge St. last night outside the Elgin Theatre for the first-ever showing of ‘8 Mile’ at the Toronto Film Festival, hoping Eminem would be attending the premiere, even though they were told he wouldn’t… and he didn’t. Director Curtis Hanson did attend however and addressed fans. As for the film, the Sun staff says, “Eminem acquits himself nicely in this debut and for a newcomer he gets a hell of a great love scene with Brittany Murphy. Kim Basinger is also in 8 Mile in the role of Eminem’s mother. His fans are going to love it.”
