Pos of De La Soul spoke with Jeff Inman of Las Vegas City Life about the band’s positive message, which hasn’t led to huge album sales but has allowed them to reach people in a way most rappers never have. “I know we’ve made a difference,” he says. “We’ve had people come up to us and say that we put another aspect in their life or that ‘Stakes Is High’ [De La’s thematic fourth album] put them in a different place. So many people have done that, and not just after shows. They come up to us when we’re out walking with our kids and say something like, ‘Hey, I don’t want to bother you, but this song or that album really got me through something.’ That’s something.” The full story at lasvegascitylife.com has since been removed.
