Fox News Has Summer Fling With Hip-Hop Ads

Newsday reports that about three weeks ago, the Fox News Channel started airing promotions with hip hop attitude – “We… we… we… we are FOX!!!” What’s up with the conservative network airing rap jingles? “You never put Fox News and hip-hop in the same sentence, but I guess you will,” says Richard O’Brien, the channel’s senior vice president-creative director and the man behind the ad campaign. He explained the network is doing the spots “to attract younger viewers, and… also a lot of things we do at the Fox News Channel are things I know CNN and MSNBC would never do.”
