Hip Hop Big At The Hamptons International Film Festival

The New York Post reports that hip hop dominated the Hamptons International Film Festival. Fashion scion Andrew Lauren’s ‘G,’ an urban re-envisioning of ‘The Great Gatsby’ starring Blair Underwood screened Saturday, as did rap mogul Damon Dash’s directorial debut, ‘Paper Soldiers.’ Thursday saw Bertha Ba-Sa screened ‘Face,’ starring rapper Treach and Bai Ling. Also at the festival: the documentaries ‘Breath Control: The History of the Human Beat Box,’ and Jamal Joseph’s ‘Hughes’ Dream Harlem,’ which explores the poetry of Langston Hughes.
