Ice Cube Says Sam Jackson Has It Wrong

Radio 1 chatted with Ice Cube about the recent comments Samuel L Jackson made about most rappers not being able to act. Cube, who has had film projects such as ‘Players Club’ in 1998, which featured Bernie Mac and the 1995 comedy, ‘Friday’, starring Chris Tucker said he’s helped actors get launched. “I’m responsible for people like Chris Tucker and Bernie Mac being household names now,” Cube boasted. “That was because of a rapper’s production – so, some rappers can’t act but there’s some actors who can’t act neither so everybody should be able to do what they can do. And the screen don’t lie – either you can or you can’t – it doesn’t matter if you’re a rapper or not.”
