Iraqi Canadian Hip Hop artist ‘Narcy’ (Yassin Alsalman) aims to break stereotypes and make it in the rap game. “Canada’s really ethnically diverse so people always come together under a certain umbrella of thought like when the War was happening in Iraq there was a lot of rallies hat happened here and they would always call on us to come and give a positive message during the rally so the media wouldn’t come out and look at us as just angry Arabs running in the streets, you know? So we’d come out and have a positive, almost festive atmosphere to get people in tune with what was happening in Iraq and why it was happening,” he told Reuters.
