The Gainsville Sun reports all welcomed Ja Rule to Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday night, not only as the day’s hottest rapper, but also as a cultural catalyst. Although superstar rappers have performed in Gainesville before (Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Busta Rhymes, for example), fans said this community craves more big names and offered Ja Rule’s diverse turnout as proof. “We can’t even believe he’s in this area,” said High Springs resident Ann Warters, who attended the show with her son.
