Rick de Yampert of the Daytona Beach News-Journal reviewed Jay-Z’s new album ‘The Blueprint 2: The Gift & the Curse’ giving it 2 out of 5 stars. He writes, “Most of ‘Blueprint’ retreats to tired rap braggadocio, as on ‘Guns & Roses,’ which samples the rock band Cake and features a limp, Led Zeppelin wanna-be riff from Lenny Kravitz. ‘I’m the young black Ralph Lauren,’ Hovi claims. ‘Every time I get out they put me right back in, the Michael Corleone of the microphone.’ How many times have rappers compared themselves to ‘The Godfather’? Sit back and wait a few hours while Hal the super-computer completes the calculations.”
