Though it was the Economist writer Gideon Rachman who wrote that hip hop’s love for Cristal had been “unwelcome attention” when interviewing Frederic Rouzaud, managing director of Louis Roederer, the company that produces it, Jay-Z’s spokesman Ron Berkowitz said his client remains offended. “They’re trying to distance themselves from the hip-hop community,” Berkowitz tells The Associated Press. “The hip-hop world certainly helped elevate the presence of Cristal.
