Jay-Z Wants To Buy New Jersey Nets

The New York Post reports Jay-Z has retained investment banking firm Andrew, Alexander, Wise & Co. to explore buying the New Jersey Nets NBA team. The YankeeNets board met on Wednesday to hear more details of the four existing bids for the Nets – Bruce Ratner, who’s offering $275 million; Charles Wang, $265 million; Stuart Feldman, $257 million; and the team of New Jersey Sen. Jon Corzine and Charles Kushner, $250 million. Jay-Z’s spokesman Ron Berkowitz declined comment.
