Jay-Z’s New Tracks Has Tweeter Center Bouncin’
Dave Wedge of the Boston Herald reviewed the Jay-Z headlining Liquid Mix fest at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield on Wednesday. Wedge said the close of 311’s set had rock moshers clashing with hip hoppers near the front, causing several fans to be taken into custody. When Jigga got rollin though, Wedge said, “Jay-Z was a master showman, impressively opening his set with three solo joints, followed by a poetry slam-style tribute to his fallen pal and mentor, Notorious B.I.G. With weed smoke wafting throughout the venue, the “Jiggaman” then trotted out Roc-A-Fella sidekicks Beanie Siegel and Memphis Bleek, along with up-and-comers Philadelphia Freeway and the Young Gunz, for a slammin’ set of new tracks that had the crowd bouncing.”
