Judge Nixes Lil’ Kim’s Trip

New York Newsday reports that a federal judge in Manhattan on Friday denied rap diva Lil’ Kim’s request to travel to the Caribbean for the St. Kitts Music Festival, noting that she faced charges of conspiracy, obstruction, perjury and lying to a federal grand jury stemming from a 2001 shooting. Lil’ Kim’s lawyer, Mel Sachs, argued that the request should be granted, telling U.S. District Judge Gerald Lynch that his client was a “well-recognized performer” who had been invited to perform at the annual festival sponsored by the St. Kitts government.
