Kanye West is gracing the cover of the new Rolling Stone dressed as Jesus Christ, the rapper’s latest act that’s creating controversy. “I’m the most controversial artist this year,” Kanye tells ‘Entertainment Tonight’, adding, just to clarify, “I’m saying that as an observation, not as a stunt; from the outside looking in, you know?” Kiera McCaffrey, director of communications for The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, wasn’t happy with the imagery. “Using the suffering of our Lord to sell their magazines is cheapening,” she complained. “They think, ‘Hey, this is really going to turn heads. This is going to sell magazines. Why don’t we do it?’ But they’re so careful not to offend other groups. There really isn’t this fear with Christians.”
