Katrina Telethon Stars Expected To Skirt Politics

Producers of Friday’s multi-network telethon for hurricane Katrina relief feel confident will just sing after last week the rapper accused the media and President Bush of racism. “Everybody is in the same spirit of what this evening is about, which is to raise as much money as possible,” producer Joel Gallen tells Reuters. “They’re going to channel their feelings into inspiring people to donate, and leave the politicizing at home.”
