The Miami Herald reports after weeks of wrangling with Miami Beach officials, rapper and promoter Luther ”Luke” Campbell on Tuesday finally submitted the paperwork needed, within an hour of the city imposed deadline, to host a beach party and arts festival on Memorial Day weekend. Campbell fumed, “The whole tactic of the beach was to stretch this thing out for me to back out of the event. The city is going to make over $300 million that weekend, and they have not put one dime into this project. It takes months to promote an event, and they didn’t want us promoting this beach around the country.”
