MCA Doesn’t Know Why People Still Buy Beastie Boys Albums

The hip-hop scene has mutated several times since the released ‘Licensed To Ill’ in 1986, but Adam Yauch (aka MCA) has “no idea” where the trio belong in 2005. “I really don’t know,” MCA admitted to Australia’s Time Off magazine. “I don’t know why people buy our records. I don’t understand it.” Nevertheless, he follows contemporary hip-hop. “I like most of what’s coming out,” he revealed. “The producers are taking the front stand in hip-hop right now. Nothing against the rappers, but it seems like there’s a lot of really interesting music being made, so I guess that’s more what I’m into right now.”
