Adriana Chávez of the El Paso Times previewed the appearance by Wu-Tang Clan on Thursday and the desire by locals to see more rap acts in places like El Paso. Robert Muhammad, the Southwest Regional minister of the Nation of Islam and rap aficionado, told the paper, “The barrio in El Paso is the same as the ghetto in Brooklyn. Poor people have a kindred spirit. I believe there should be more groups like the Wu-Tang Clan coming by, groups that raise raise consciousness as well as entertain.”
