Mountain Dew Code Red Relies On Hip-Hop Celebs

This story was from back in August but since I’m currently chugging a Mountain Dew Code Red I thought I’d look and see if anyone had focused on the unusual marketing effort to target a soft drink to a black audience, which Code Red has done. Said ZDnet, “UniWorld, a minority advertising agency based in New York… pumped up the word-of-mouth buzz by sending out compilation CDs and free cases of Code Red to hip-hop celebrities such as producer and radio deejay Funkmaster Flex.”
