Nigeria Refugee Wants To Make A Name In Hip Hop

Osman Benk Sankoh of the Concord Times profiled Slash of Freetown, Sierra Leone, who is determined to make a name for himself in the hip hop world. Slash grew up a refugee with no parents, no guardian, no work, no one to lean on for support. “I basically started music as a way of getting food to put into my mouth when I was a refugee in Nigeria,” he explained.
