Officials Suspect Bat Bite In Death Of Midwestern Rapper

Iowa health officials said they’re trying to determine the source of the rabies that killed 20 year old rapper Ronald Buckley, a Cedar Rapids man. It was the first human fatality in Iowa from the disease since 1951. Tom Hart, environmental supervisor at the Linn County Public Health Department, says health officials appealed to Buckley’s acquaintances in Cedar Rapids and in East Moline, Ill., to see if they shared any saliva with him — such as by a cigarette or a kiss — or if they were exposed to animals in his presence.
