On Da Town Council?

With reports that 50 Cent is interested in running for local office in Farmington after purchasing his $4.1 million compound, Bill Larkin of the New Britain Herald is urging the rapper to make it a reality. He writes, “Not only would 50 Cent’s candidacy represent that goodwill gesture I suggested last September, but it could help diversify a council that is mostly male and all white. Also, teenagers and young adults interested in a candidate more known for stopping bullets than stopping the buck might gravitate to local government, a morass of civic participation, particularly among youth.”
