OutKast Find Strength In Individuality
To OutKast’s Big Boi, the dramatic upswing in Grammy nominations for hip-hop artists this year feels like “kicking down a door. It’s almost like they couldn’t deny us anymore.” But to OutKast’s other main man, Andre 3000, the further acceptance of hip hop is “a little sad. Hip hop has become so pop,” he lamented to Jim Farber of the New York Daily News. “But the good thing is, when that happens it usually creates a reaction in the underground to create something new.”
