Outkast Nab Three Grammys, 50 Cent Goes Home Empty
Destiny’s Child star Beyonce Knowles went home with a leading five Grammy Awards, going home with awards in five out of the six categories she was nominated in. Other multiple winners included Alison Krauss, OutKast and Luther Vandross with three awards each, and Eminem, Jay-Z, June Carter Cash, Warren Zevon, and Justin Timberlake each with a pair of awards. Of those multiple winners, OutKast took the coveted Album Of The Year honors for ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’, while Vandross, with Richard Marx, scored Song Of The Year honors for ‘Dance With My Father’ from the album of the same name. Evanescence garnered the Best New Artist award in an upset over 50 Cent, while Coldplay scored Record Of The Year for ‘Clocks.’ Christina Aguilera was also a winner, accepting her award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for ‘Beautiful.’
