Wiz Khalifa had an encounter with officers at a Holiday Inn in Nashville, according to a police report obtained TMZ. The rapper got a knock from Metro Nashville Police on Saturday (April 21) after another hotel patron complained about marijuana odor. Wiz allegedly tried to get rid of the pot by tossing a blunt out of the window. Wiz then admitted it was his joint and he turned over 3.7 grams of marijuana he had in his pocket. The 24-year-old was given a ticket, but wasn’t arrested.

Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic recording artist Plies has joined the numerous public figures who have paid tribute to 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, with a YouTube video titled ‘We Are Trayvon’. The track, which was produced by Filthy Beatz, was released via the Miami-native’s YouTube page earlier this month, and is now available at all digital retailers. 100% of the profits of single sales of ‘We Are Trayvon’ will be donated to the Justice For Trayvon Martin Foundation. The video depicts how apathy and lack of action by the masses allows these modern day injustices to exist.
The concept behind Hasan Salaam’s EP ‘Music Is My Weapon’ is the belief that music can be used as a powerful tool in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality. With the release of the project, Hasan is aiming to prove that music can change people’s lives, literally. All profits from the sale of the EP are being used to fund a school, clean water well, and medical clinic in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. The school has already been completed, and construction of the well is underway.
