Rap Helps Nelly To Tackle Acting

Nelly, who makes his feature-film debut in ‘The Longest Yard’ with Adam Sandler, spoke with The New York Daily News on why he’s made the crossover. “We’re already used to being in front of cameras,” Nelly explained. “As performers, we go into hostile environments sometimes, and it takes a little acting to get audiences riled up. And we have to remember the rap. I might go into the studio and write a whole song and not write down one thing. Remembering is basically what we do. So your head is already prepared to take in huge quantities of script.”
