Rev. Al Sharpton Still Plugging Away Against ‘Barbershop’

The Rev. Al Sharpton continues to go after the starring ‘Barbershop’ after the film made jokes about Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. “We protested when white disk jockeys and others derided Dr. King,” Sharpton told the New York Daily News. “We are not going to be racist and let black actors get away with it.” He added, seemingly unaware that film revenues generally tail off after a few weeks, “A 21% profit loss in one week is a significant drop for any movie. If they had big numbers, and they dropped the same week we came out [with our criticism], then people should say, ‘Wait a minute, maybe people agree with us.'”
