Rev Run’s Nightmare: Death Of A Newborn Daughter

Joseph Simmons, aka Rev Run of Run-DMC spoke with The New York Daily News shortly after the tragic death of his newborn daughter last Tuesday. “Right there in the hospital room, Bishop E. Bernard Jordan” – of the Zoe Ministries, in which Simmons is a minister – “prayed over the baby and gave a sermon. The funeral director came, too. That’s how we did it. We prayed for acceptance. It’s painful, okay? But you don’t get mad at God. Acceptance is purifying.” Simmons said he, his wife and their five children are coping with their grief.
