A London-based music producer, Richard Dearlove, who’s been using the Diddy moniker since 1992, sued Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs citing unfair competition. “He changed his name to Diddy. I was gutted,” Dearlove told the Guardian. “I started getting emails from Puerto Rican girls asking if they could be in my video and people were asking me to look at their clothing line.” The Bad Boy mogul paid more than $190,000 U.S. dollars in legal costs as part of a settlement, will now have to find yet another name in the UK.
