Russell Simmons tells Radio 1 rappers are more effective than US leaders in getting messages through, and he thinks George W Bush would benefit by listening to what hip-hop stars have to say about life. “I always think of Jay-Z as so much more important to young people – and certainly across the world – than maybe Colin Powell,” he said. “You know, Puffy’s more important to young people across the world for sure and more well liked than George Bush.”
