Smear Merchants At It Again
Dubious entertainment web site M***T***O**.com is at it again, publishing serious allegations against Jay-Z on the basis of an e-mail received from a woman claiming to be the assistant of the rap mogul’s girlfriend Beyonce Knowles. The site, apparently begging to be hit with a defamation lawsuit, provided no details on whether they made any effort to confirm the identity of the apparently anonymous e-mailer, who stated that “too many times have I seem (sic) [Jay] shove and push [Beyonce].” We have seen countless times high profile African American celebrities get smeared via anonymous e-mails (examples: false report that Ciara was a man, a false report Kelly Rowland was pregnant, a false report Teairra Mari died in a car accident, and a false report Ne-Yo admitted to being gay in Essence Magazine), which then quickly spead via celebrity forums and blogs only to turn out to be complete fictitious, and this item will prove to be another. We also receive anonymous e-mails like the one published by the site we won’t name, making similarly outrageous allegations on a weekly basis. Without any form of proof, we would never publish such items.
